ABU Dhabi Gas Industries (GASCO) and Abu Dhabi Gas Liquefaction (ADGAS) have awarded WorleyParsons subsidiary, Parsons Energy and Chemicals Group, three contracts with total estimated value of about $US35.7 million ($A48.1 million).
Under the contracts, Parsons Energy is to provide project management services on three engineering procurement and construction (EPC) packages for the Das Island facilities, offshore and onshore pipelines and Habshan facilities of the offshore associated gases project.
WorleyParsons will provide services to manage the EPC contractors, handling activities ranging from EPC pre-award to testing and commissioning of the facilities.
The project consists of new compression and dehydration units on Das Island, a new 30-inch high-pressure pipeline to transport offshore gases from Das Island to Habshan, and new processing units at Habshan to separate the bulk of the Natural Gas Liquids (NGL) components recovered from the offshore gases.
The project management team will be based in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates during the pre-award phase, then assigned to the EPC contractors' offices during the detailed engineering and procurement phase. Finally, it will be based at Das Island and Habshan during the project's construction and commissioning phase.
